Overview
The 3 Days gorilla trekking tour in Rwanda is all about introducing you to the home of gorillas in Volcanoes National park. This park covers an area of 160 square kilometers located in the Virunga massif and it homes about 12 habituated gorilla families. This safari is meant for gorilla trekking where you get a chance to spend a maximum of an hour while observing their movements and behaviors.
The safari will be having an option of either visiting Ibyiwachu cultural village or hiking to Dian Fossey graveyard. Also, visit some of the famous attractions in Kigali city and this will be on your last day and places like the markets, gallery centers and the memorial grounds will be visited.
Detailed itinerary
Day1. Transfer to Volcanoes national park after a pick up from Kigali Rwanda
Welcome to the republic of Rwanda! The driver guide will welcome you from the airport with a big smile and immediately go through briefing about this great tour.

Transfer to Volcanoes national park a home to large numbers of mountain gorillas together with other mammals like elephants, chimpanzees, buffalos, duikers, bushbucks and many more others. The journey to the park is amazing as you encounter beautiful scenery covered by rolling hills. Head to the lodge for your dinner
Day2. Gorilla trekking and optional activity (ibyiwachu cultural village tour visit the Dian Fossey museum)
Wake up and enjoy breakfast which will be followed by a drive to the park offices to be briefed about this morning activity of gorilla trekking. This exercise plays a big role since it brings out the rules and regulations, cross checking the gorilla permits, allocation of the park ranger and more. Trekking will begin through the jungle while spotting different attractions like plants, birds and more of the primates.

Meeting a gorilla family visited will reward you with an opportunity to spend an hour in their presence learning about their movement and behaviors. Members can be performing different tasks such as playing, searching for food, grooming young ones and the Silverback (head of the family) practicing its leadership skills. After head to back to the lodge with your certificate of trekking and this will create everlasting memories.
Have an optional activity of either visiting ibyiwachu cultural village for a cultural experience or visit the Dian Fossey museum to learn about a primatologist researcher who was murdered while protecting the rare mountain gorillas from poachers. Later in the evening, head back to the lodge and this will be the end of the day.
Day3. Transfer back to Kigali, city tour and fly home
Leave Volcanoes national park in the morning and head to Kigali for a short city tour where you will visit the Kimironko market, art and gallery center, genocide museum of Kigali and many more others. Later, head to the airport and fly back home to mark the end of the safari.
